Mount Dahaiyagala is located 2Km near to the hotel and about 400m in height. This hike to the peak offers breath taking panaromic views of the surrounding mountain range, lakes and forrest. If you are in there right time you are lucky to see the glamour of sunset in the western sky.

WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK

Wilpattu National Park is the oldest and second-largest wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka: from the western coastline north of Puttalam, Exotic safaris through the coastal plains of Wilpattu take place over a course of 9 hours (half day) or even 14 hours (full day), depending only on your enthusiasm for the legendary wildlife awaiting your presence.

Thick with dense jungle, except for hundreds of ponds or willu that give it its name, Wilpattu is famous for bears, elephants, and leopards (of which it has one of the largest populations in Sri Lanka), bird life, and  many other species. It is best to visit during the inter-monsoonal months of February and October but it is fascinating all year round.

MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK

Minneriya , an enormous irrigation reservoir built in 286AD by King Mahasena I of Anuradhapura. It is a sanctuary, best known for the ‘Gathering’, a seasonal congregation of wild elephants that attracts herds as big as 400 from all over the country to the shores of the Minneriya tank. Coming from all corners of the North Central Province, the ‘Gathering’ of elephants showcase Sri Lanka’s harmonious relationship with nature in all its glory. Recognised the world over as one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth.

NAMAL UYANA SRI LANKA

The Jathika Namal Uyana in Sri Lanka is the largest ironwood forest and pink quartz mountain in Asia. The Ironwood Tree is endemic to Sri Lanka and the forest is covered over 260 acres in extent. According to  researcher’s findings, the pink quartz in this historical place has a history of more than 550 millions of years.  Naamal Uyana is an  rare forest replanted with Iron wood trees in the 8th Century AD commenced during the starting from King Devanampiyathissa and ending with king Dappula .  Namal Uyana had been a sanctuary for Buddhist monks during King Devanampiyatissa’s reign in the 8th century. Later it had been used as a prison camp where the punishment was to plant Na trees.

Boating in Ibbankatuwa Tank

Ibbankatuwa Tank is a shallow reservoir and one of largets in Dambulla and tank is feed by a small river called Dambulu oya which also boarded to hotel premises. After walking about 100 meters from hotel in to the jungle you can come to a still unspoilt camping/bathing site. Ibbankatuwa tank is famous for boat ride which end with the island called “ Sathtu Dupatha “ (Pleasure Island) in the mid of the reservoir.

NATURE TRAIL WITH BIRD WATCHING

Our wildlife trail covers approximately 1.5 kilometers and  this is leisurely 60-minute nature walk with our inhouse Naturalist will delight you with an abundance of exotic creatures such as the crimson rose butterfly, brahminy kite, grey squirrel etc. ,Early morning is the best time to catch a glimpse of some of the wildlife and 50-plus species of endemic and migratory birds that inhabit the neighbourhood. Without any hesitation Tropical Life one of best single place to see most of the bird species in Dambulla.

On a lush trail through provincial paddy fields,small jungles  you will settle upon the banks of the Dambulu Oya – which is not only a hotspot for migratory birds in winter seasons, but also some of Sri Lanka’s iconic species including the common kingfisher, peacocks, egrets, brahminy kites and purple coots to name a few. Rarer birds such as the fish owl, green pigeon and hornbill, above their wild cohabitants such grey langur and toque macaque who have also made this habitat their home.

At the end you can return for breakfast inspired by the nature as well as getting some exercise to your body.
